So I woke up today around 8:30 as I has to pee really bad. It was
freezing outside and I ran back to the warmth of my sleeping bag to
plan out today's trip. After numerous calculations and adjustments I
decided the best option for me would be to head to Seaside and stay in
a hostel. I finally felt relieved to know where I was staying the
night, but not brave enough to go make breakfast. Finally I went and
ate and packed up camp slowly and reluctantly as the weather was not
the warmest.
I hit the road shivering at 12:30. I know it's a late start, but it
happens and caused me to ride hard to make up for my lolly gaging.
Once the legs got going I felt good not having encountered the wind
yet. I took a slight detour to save some miles and some climbing. Then
the sun peaked out and the day was good. While I was about half way to
my destination I started hearing a weird noise from the bike I stopped
checked it over and found nothing. Then decided it was the spokes
stretching out and not having the time or place to fix it just then I
rode on. The sound was driving me insane to anyone else they would
have cared less I think, but I was waiting for the wheel to explode or
have a spoke break at least.
I made it to my hostel called, Seaside International Hostel, after 4
hours of riding and 58 miles. I showered and am now treating myself to
some lovely Pizza Hut.
Oh by the way I have traveled 1255 miles this far and my penne pasta
last night was amazing. I ate 2/3 of the box and the sauce maybe my
new favorite sauce.
Well the food is coming so that is all for tonight, but tomorrow I
will let you know how my ferry crossing of the Columbia River into
Washington goes.
