Honeyman State Park

Honeyman State Park

Last night I arrived at Honeyman State Park 54 miles north of where I
was the night before. The wind is taking it's toll on me physically
still as the legs ache every morning now and when I go to bed. I have
just over 200 miles left of Oregon and then maybe I will try to get a
day ahead and rest. Those 5 days that I lost due to the fires would
come in handy now, but I will manage.

I met an extraordinary couple last night. Gary and Kartina, who are
Kiwis, as they like to call themselves. They have biked from New
Zealand to England, flying or taking a boat when needed. They are in
their late 50's. They now teach oral English in China and bike when
they have their two months off. Quite amazing those two are.

I also met two youngers blokes Sam and Aaron who are riding down to
the Redwoods and then back up through central Oregon to a town called
Bend. They gave me some tips for when I hit Washington abc said if I
have the chance I should bike through the San Juan Islands. I don't
think I will get there with enough time but who knows maybe I will get
a burst here and be able to do more than 50 a day.

Not sure where I am going to stop tonight depends on the wind and the
legs. I still have to break camp and pack up. The sun is shining today
so that might help me mentally as thecloudy days seem so depressing
out here. I am off to break camp I will post this as soon as possible
and try to post again tonight.
