Training has begun

Well folks the training has gotten underway despite the fact that I don't have a bike to ride outside yet. With everything that has happened since my last post I don't really know where to begin. I have the bank account set up for the ride, so if you know someone who is affected by diabetes and want to help out send it my way and be apart of something huge.

Alright now I will get more into the update. So this last week my car died, cracked head gasket. Sucks I know, but I am okay with it. I have decided to use the lack of a car too help me out and bike to school and wherever else I need to go. The only problem is I live in MN and lets face it, it is freezing out there. With that being said Mom, has loaned me her car until the cold spell breaks and I can start biking everywhere I go.

This week I have started marathon training and also bike training. I run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and try to bike at least 10 miles after each run. Though this week I only did it after Wednesday's run because my butt was so sore that I couldn't think about sitting on another stationary bike and riding for 30 minutes. I can't wait until I can bike outside.

People have been quite generous in helping me prepare for this ride. Logan Bjerke, the husband of my boss at the theatre, said he has a helmet cam that I can use to document the ride. Now I know what you are thinking that is a lot of footage, but let me assure you I won't tape constantly, just when things get a little hairy, or I am really bored and have some stuff I feel I need to get off my chest so it could make for an interesting watch. If all goes as planned I hope to edit and maybe sell a copy of the ride to all who donated for like $2 -$5 depending on the price of producing it.

In other news I have applied to a bicycle shop up here in the cities called Penn Cycle and have an interview with them Monday. They are aware of the ride and that I am new to biking/touring and yet still want me to come in and chat with them. So I feel as though the bad luck I have been having car wise and just stress wise has all be a part of God's master plan to get me prepared for this ride. I feel God is really using me to do something amazing with the abilities He has given me and I am getting super excited. I have no clue what I am called to do after this ride, but as of now I know God wants me doing this ride, He is just bringing people into my life that are helping this mess of a puzzle slowly take form and come into focus. So keep your fingers crossed and if you don't mind, maybe say a little prayer for the interview on Monday and for me to stay healthy as I train not only for the marathon, but also this ride.
